Shania Rattan

Shania joined McQuarrie’s Family litigation group after practicing both in Alberta and British Columbia. She has appeared on behalf of her clients before the Provincial and the Supreme Court of British Columbia. She has also appeared before the Alberta Court of Justice and the Court of King’s Bench. Shania takes great pride in supporting her clients through strong advocacy both in and out of the litigation process.

Prior to practicing law, Shania worked for the federal government in Ottawa. She worked for Global Affairs Canada and the Canadian Commercial Corporation. During her time with the federal government, she exclusively worked on government-to-government contracts between Canada and other countries.

Shania completed her Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a minor in Political Science at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. During her studies, she was awarded the Trek Scholarship in 2017 and 2018 for superior academic performance.

Outside of the office, Shania has committed over ten years of volunteer service to animal rescue and rehabilitation. She is an active foster for the BC SPCA and HugABull Advocacy. Shania also enjoys hiking, fishing, and a good book.
