Jack Grant

For over four decades, Jack has provided legal services and business advice to some of the leaders in real estate and business in the Pacific Northwest.

Jack is known for offering responsive, sound, innovative and timely advice, having a knack for finding practical solutions to complex problems.

Skilled at drafting and negotiating all types of real estate and commercial documents, much of Jack’s current work focuses on structuring and closing real estate and commercial transactions and drafting complex agreements such as purchase and sale agreements, financings, development documents, corporate organization (joint ventures, limited partnerships) and reorganization documents.

Jack has two decades of experience with major local law firms, an additional 10 years of experience with a regional law firm in Washington State, and another 10 years of experience with one of BC’s premier real estate developers.

Representative work

Performed a wide variety of legal services for a major Vancouver developer of over 20 concrete residential tower projects, office towers and mixed-use commercial projects, assisting with the acquisition, land-use entitlements, financing, construction and sale and all related work.
Assisted in the $800M privatization of a major BC corporation for several divisions.
Negotiated significant concessions relating to a government taking that would have adversely impacted a major television broadcaster.
Assisted with the permitting and construction of a multimodal transportation facility located in downtown Vancouver.

Membership and professional affiliations

Member of the BC Law Society since 1983 and the Washington Bar Association since 1999.
Served 7 years as a Board Director of the Technology Alliance Group, a Northwest nonprofit corporation that promotes, advocates for and helps build technology businesses.
Served 8 years as a Rotarian, including acting as co-chair of the “Grape and Gourmet” fundraiser showcasing local wineries and restaurants.
Served 3 years as Board Director for the Whatcom County Chamber of Commerce.
