McQuarrie Hunter says goodbye to Mac Tyler

 

On December 31st, 2007, McQuarrie Hunter said goodbye to retiring partner Malcolm G. Tyler after more than 30 years of service to the firm and community.

 

Mac was a volunteer with a great many organizations in New Westminster. He was a member of the New Westminster Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association, the New Westminster Chamber of Commerce and the Westminster Club. He was also a director of the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation.

 

In 2006, Mac was inducted into the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame in recognition of over 45 years of service to the sport in the Royal City. He played for the Junior Salmonbellies and the O'Keefes and, after retiring from play in 1973, served for over 30 years on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame and the B.C. Lacrosse Association Appeals Board.

 

Mac received a Bachelor of Laws at the University of British Columbia in 1972. Before that, he received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Physical Education from McMaster University in Hamilton. In 2003, he celebrated 30 years of call to the B.C. Bar.
