Richard D. Molstad

Richard D. Molstad is a partner in our New Westminster office and has 25 years’ experience in all aspects of civil and criminal litigation.

Rick's preferred areas of practice are:

• Civil and criminal litigation.

• Provincial Court and Supreme Court trials and Appellate Court work.

• Personal injury matters.

• Insurance matters.

• Mediation of civil claims.

Rick is an active member of several professional associations, including the Canadian Bar Association, with a particular interest in the civil litigation, criminal law and insurance law. He is also a member and past president of the New Westminster Bar Association.

Apart from his work in the law, Rick is very involved in the New Westminster community, including the following organizations:

• St. John Ambulance—Member, Provincial Council (BC & Yukon), and Member and Treasurer, Branch Executive Committee (New Westminster Branch)

• Royal City Rotary Club Board of Directors

• Hyack Festival Association Board of Directors, Treasurer

He is also involved in sporting activities, including recreational slo-pitch and volleyball leagues. Rick has coached youth soccer and minor baseball teams, has organized charity golf tournaments and is known to golf on occasion.

Rick received a Bachelor of Laws at the University of British Columbia. He articled with McQuarrie Hunter LLP and was called to the B.C. Bar in 1981.
