Gillian Canniff is an associate in our Surrey office on 104^th Avenue.  Her preferred areas of practice are:

• Family law litigation, including divorce, custody, guardianship, access, personal and financial restraining orders, spousal support, child support, and property division arising from marriage and marriage-like relationships.
• General civil litigation.
• Insurance defence.
• Employment law.

Gillian is a member of the New Westminster Bar Association and the Canadian Bar Association.  

Gillian studied at the University of Calgary where she received a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1992. She completed her paralegal certification, with honours, from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in 1995. She graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 2001 with a Bachelor of Laws. Gillian articled with a medium-sized firm in the Lower Mainland and was called to the Bar in 2002. She continued to practice in the Lower Mainland and joined McQuarrie Hunter LLP in January of 2008.

In her spare time, Gillian enjoys volunteering with a variety of organizations, spending time with her friends and family and traveling.
